Arapahoe library holds grandparents event

In honor of Grandparents Day, the Arapahoe Public Library hosted a Grandparents Night last Wednesday evening.  Those that attended were kept busy with craft projects, and refreshments along with listening to librarian Jennifer Einspahr read a good book.

While many of us were enjoying summer vacation, several Arapahoe reading teachers were being educated on reading skills to help students with learning disabilities.
On June 23rd to June 27th, an “A-Z reading” workshop was help in Arapahoe. It has been successful in helping students with dyslexia learn to read. Chapel of the Lake receives donation PDF Print E-mail

On Friday, September 12, Judy Wixson, representing The Chapel of the Lake, was presented a check by  the Johnson Lake Chamber of Commerce.  The money was part of the proceeds from the Johnson Lake Art and Wine Festival that was held in June.  The check for $2000 will be used to make improvements at the Chapel.   During the past year improvements made to the Chapel included extending the patio in front of the Chapel, new hand rails (were designed and made by Steve Lofquist and Preston Holbrook)  at the entries into the Chapel, a new cross (made by Rod Hinzs from Johnson Lake) on the front of the Chapel and new sidewalk in the back that connects to the handicap ramp.  The Chapel holds services from
